Message from. Its pretty close to how it really work, but not exact. The boost sensor I'm referring to is not coupled to the ECU so the ECU does not know what the boost pressure is. It actually goes by TP (theoretical pulsewidth). which is a calculation of load that is calculated from MAS and engine RPM (and injector K value). In short, the ECU opens the solenoids based on a load value rather than a pressure value.

Also, it does not pulse the solenoids - they are either opened or closed. The jetting in the stock lines will produce the 9.5psi of boost pressure and this is completely mechanical - pneumatic. The smaller the jet, the lower the air volume going into the boost control system, the higher the boost pressure will be.

If your boost control system is using any of the OEM lines, pull all of that out and replace with new lines going from your actuators to your boost solenoid. The stock lines have jets of their own which limits the volume of air the aftermarket solenoid can move through the lines. This means you'll have to use lower gain settings and not be able to achieve as crisp of a boost response as you approach your target boost. It tends to "round" out the boost curve as you approach target boost rather than hit the target boost and flatten out.
